On June 3rd 2002, Enid Todd daughter of Harold Larwood
returns from Australia to open the new Kirkby and Portland Cricket
Club's pavilion.
'The Harold Larwood Pavilion'; named after her father, has been
made possible by receving an award from the Sport England Lottery
Fund of £120,000.
The Sport England lottery Fund Award will go towards a total project
cost of almost £148,000 allowing Kirkby Portland to replace
two prefabricated buildings currently used as changing rooms.

The club itself was formed in 1878 but led a nomadic life before
finally settling and buying the ground from Scottish and Newcastle
breweries.
Club Chairman Terry Barrett said: "Enid has been to visit
the local area before because the house where Harold was born is
just across the road from the ground. We're delighted that she will
be formally opening the pavilion and we're planning a weekend of
celebrations."
Kirkby
Portland coaches children as young as seven and has built up three
adult teams and six junior teams. Disabled players will be using
the ground once the new facilities have been opened and the club
is also keen to encourage girls' and women's teams.
